Areas of Expertise

Adult Psychotherapy

Let's think about our thinking. Curiosity and bravery are important aspects of any learning experience and these traits are equally important in psychotherapy. As a psychologist, I encourage my clients to be both brave and curious as we respectfully examine and process poignant thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Through this thoughtful process, the client is able to grow, and gain both self-confidence and improved internal emotional regulation. My goal or agenda for psychotherapy is not mine but yours, and I look forward to collaborating with you and bearing witness to your growth.

Child Psychotherapy

Child and adult psychotherapy are not the same.  When working with children, psychologists serve as important information brokers between various members of the family, other medical professionals, schools, and various community supports.  In therapy, the psychologist gently encourages the child to examine her or his thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so as to better understand the ways in which different social interactions or situations influence particular emotional or behavioral responses.  Mental Fitness & Psychotherapy works to empower children by assisting them with identifying their strengths and gaining a more holistic appreciation for their multifaceted identities and talents.

Performance Psychology

Much of life is spent in the pursuit of our goals.  This pursuit can not only provide purpose, but it can culminate in changing not only our lives, but the lives of those in our communities.  For athletes and non-athletes in high-stress high-performance occupations, the ability to manage the ebbs and flows of daily life is heightened due to the unique stressors of work.  Working with a Certified Mental Performance Consultant can provide individuals with a venue to improve their mental fitness and agility in order to better manage stress and overcome adversity in a way that best preserves their emotional wellness.
